What the standard analysis includes, what it does not, how volume discounts work, and which fees may apply to your request.
Compare what the quote includes: area purity, identity, method information and the analytical attachments on the certificate. Laboratories can price similar work differently. The per-sample figure alone does not establish analytical quality or the scope provided.
The core analysis
The Peptide analysis is $299 CAD per accepted sample and covers two measurements, within the accepted scope:
- Area purity by full-spectrum HPLC with diode-array detection: the principal peak as a share of total detected response, under stated conditions, with the chromatogram printed on the certificate.
- Identity against reference spectra for the named compound, using a selection of FTIR-ATR, Raman spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis with UV detection, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, chosen to suit the molecule.
Purity and quantity answer different questions. A high area-purity percentage can accompany a lower-than-labelled quantity. Choose the measurements that address your question and confirm their reporting basis before comparing results.
Content is not part of the standard price
Area purity is a relative measurement. The instrument compares parts of one sample against each other, and the answer needs no external anchor, which is exactly why it cannot tell you how much is in the vial.
Quantitative content, the milligrams of target peptide in the vial, is a separate measurement and is not run by default. It is available on request and depends on a suitable reference standard being obtainable for the compound, so it is settled in the quote rather than assumed from the headline price. Ask how the result will be expressed, including any peptide-base or salt basis, and which preparation or matrix limitations apply. The methods page describes the published service scope.
Where confirmatory work sits
Where a result looks anomalous, the sample can be sent to a contract laboratory for LC-MS confirmation, and the certificate names the method where it was used. That is confirmatory work rather than a line on the standard price, and it is not an in-house instrument.
Contaminant panels
These answer questions the purity analysis does not touch, and each is priced separately because each is a different instrument and a different preparation:
Worth stating plainly because it is the most common misreading: an endotoxin result is not a sterility test. Microbial enumeration, which is the measurement people usually have in mind when they ask, is not offered by this laboratory at all, and neither panel above answers a sterility question.
How volume tiers work
The per-sample price of the core analysis falls with the number of samples carrying that test in a single request:
- 1-2 samples: $299 per sample
- 3-5 samples: $279 per sample
- 6-11 samples: $265 per sample
- 12 or more samples: $255 per sample
The volume rate is applied from the number of samples carrying that test within the request. The request form shows the resulting estimate before submission.
The costs that are not the test price
These are the ones that make two quotes look closer than they are:
- Shipping to the laboratory. Tracked, and paid by the submitter. Sample must not be shipped before the request is accepted. See how it works.
- Tax. Applied at your provincial rate, not a flat national one. The request form estimates it from your province.
- Rush turnaround. $199 CAD per request for two business days instead of the standard five-to-ten-day window after receipt and acceptance, subject to capacity and method readiness.
- Additional named COA. $50 CAD per sample, for an additional named issue covering the same sample and results. Downloading the released PDF is included.
- Card processing. 2.5%, shown as its own line rather than folded into the prices. Interac e-Transfer and Bitcoin do not carry it.

Confirm your total before shipping
The accepted quote lists the testing scope, applicable volume rate, tax, and selected extras. Ask about any difference between the estimate and the confirmed scope before mailing your sample.
Fees cover the accepted analytical work. The report should describe the findings and any limitations, including unexpected or inconclusive results. Ask how additional work would be quoted before requesting a repeat.
